Child Development & Effective Parenting

Nurturing Your Child’s Development Through Informed, Individualised Support

At Repploy Counselling & ASD Services, we provide counselling and specialist ASD-informed developmental support to children, young people, parents, and carers. Our work supports children’s emotional wellbeing, behaviour, communication, regulation, and overall development within the context of their family, school, and community environments.

Our approach is grounded in professional training, lived experience, and a deep understanding of autism, ADHD, trauma, attachment, and neurodevelopmental differences. We work collaboratively with families to build understanding, confidence, and practical strategies that support positive developmental outcomes for children.

This service is suitable for NDIS-funded families, DFFH-involved families, and private clients, depending on individual circumstances, referral pathways, consent arrangements, and agreed goals.

Scope of Support

Repploy Counselling & ASD Services provides counselling and ASD-informed developmental support delivered through individual sessions, parent–child work, and parent or carer guidance.

Support may involve working directly with the child or young person, with parents or carers, or in a combined approach, depending on the child’s age, needs, capacity, and referral context.

Our role may include supporting families to:

  • understand their child’s developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs

  • build emotional regulation and coping skills

  • strengthen communication and connection within the family

  • navigate behavioural and emotional challenges in a supportive, trauma-informed way

  • develop practical strategies that support daily functioning at home, school, and in the community

  • increase parental confidence, consistency, and understanding

Support focuses on emotional development, communication, regulation, and daily functioning, and does not replace clinical therapy, behaviour support plans, medical services, or statutory interventions where these are required.

Our Approach

Our Child Development & Parenting support is:

  • Child-centred and family-focused: Support is tailored to the child’s developmental stage, needs, and family context.
  • ASD-informed practice: We apply neuro-affirming, trauma-informed principles in all work with children and families.

  • Collaborative: We work alongside parents, carers, schools, and other professionals where appropriate.

  • Respectful and strengths-based: Emphasis is placed on understanding behaviour, not punishing it.

Sessions focus on insight, understanding patterns, and developing practical, sustainable strategies that support both the child and the family as a whole.
